Tom Paulin appointed MD of Preston Band

Darebin City Brass are very pleased to welcome Mr Tom Paulin as the new Musical Director of Preston Band.

The DCB committee appointed Tom this week after months of rehearsals and auditions from many highly qualified applicants. Tom returns to Australia after a number of years living in the UK and is looking forward to working with the band once more, after almost 20 years since first playing with and conducting Preston Band.

Tom has previously conducted many bands around Melbourne including Kew Band, Booroondara Brass and 2004 ‘A Grade’ National Champions, Hawthorn Band. His return to Preston marks a new beginning in the bands future. The committee of DCB believe that Mr Paulin is the most experienced and qualified MD to ensure the continuing development of the culture and musicianship at Darebin City Brass.

The first engagement for Preston Band with Tom Paulin will be the Annual Cabaret on November 13th at the Preston Town Hall.

Darebin City Brass are always looking for new players. For more information please contact the Darebin City Brass at info@darebincitybrass.com

Financial support for new instruments always appreciated

Here at Darebin Brass we are fortunate to have great support from so many quarters!  Friends, families and the local community are just fantastic in their generosity.  However the reality is that to keep up our high standards, we need to keep our instruments in good order (and replace them when they get old).  This is a recurring overhead for us and we now have a convenient way for our community to make donations to the band.  You can make a cash donation via the link to this site (yes it is a legit site and the funds will be used to replace our tired instruments).  Go to the ‘Give  Now’ website
