As a performer, Jamie has travelled the world and is regularly engaged as a soloist and ensemble player in both commercial and community engagements. Professionally, Jamie was employed by the Royal Australian Navy as a Trumpet player travelling to many countries appearing as a soloist in not only concerts, but also on several recordings. During this time Jamie also gained extensive experience in wind band, rock band, Jazz group and Big band settings. He has since appeared on numerous commercially available productions and remains in high demand as both a performer and educator both here and abroad.
Jamie is five times Victorian Cornet solo champion and has been twice awarded Victorian “Champion of Champions”. He has held the principal chair at Footscray Yarraville City band for 17 years and is a life member of National Australia Brass and senior tutor for National Australia Brass Youth Band.
As a conductor, Jamie has proved himself as an emerging talent having won two National titles, two State titles, 2 Bendigo eisteddfods and twice been awarded “Platinum” at the Victorian Schools music festival, all over a period of just three years.
As an educator, Jamie has worked at may institutions and is currently employed at St. Kevin’s College teaching both brass and ensembles. He is conductor of the Senior Concert Band, the Big Band and Brass ensemble and has a full load of students under his guidance. Additionally, he teaches privately from primary through to tertiary level.
