Preston Band competes in local, national and overseas competitions plus regularly performs at various events in the local community Preston is currently looking for a new MD.

Northern Brass

This band has had a fantastic journey since they started - the band won the Australian D Grade section in 2007 and came a close second in 2008. Plus Northern Brass are the current D Grade Victorian State Champions! In March 2008, Northern was regraded to C Grade! Northern Brass is conducted by Andrew Power

NEWSFLASHNorthern Brass Wins Bendigo Eisteddfod - First Performance in C Grade!!! On Sunday 1st June, Northern Brass competed for the first time in C Grade at the Bendigo Eisteddfod, and won by 7 points!!

Jason Mears has announced that he is taking a break from conducting, and has resigned as Musical Director of Darebin City Brass – Preston Band. His wife, Sarah Mears, who was Secretary of Darebin City Brass and a percussion player with Preston, has also resigned. Jason was Musical director of Preston Band for approx four years, during which he took the band to numerous local and National competitions, as well as a trip overseas to compete in the New Zealand Championships. He has also conducted the band at various local and country gigs, including the popular Darebin City Brass cabarets.
Jason with the band in Bright - Anzac Day 2008 He has made the decision to take a break from the stress and hard work of taking an A Grade Brass Band due to a number of factors, the main one being that he has some health issues, and will need to take some time to concentrate on getting his health back on track.
