2025 Australian National Band Championships Recap~

Over the Easter weekend, the energy was high and the stakes even higher as DCB's Preston Band and Northern Brass proudly represented at the 2025 Australian National Band Championships. Here's how it all unfolded...

Preston Band proudly claimed 3rd place in Premier Grade – an outstanding achievement in their first competition at this level! Under the direction of Andrew Snell, their dedication and musicianship shone through, capped off with a standing ovation from the crowd on Sunday night.

Northern Brass also had a brilliant weekend, earning 2nd place in Open C Grade Brass – a testament to the hard work and passion that went into every rehearsal, led by Martyn Scrimshaw.

A big congratulations to Sydney City Brass and Brisbane Excelsior Band for their placing in Premier Grade, as well as Wonthaggi Citizens' Band and Western Brass in Open C Grade Brass.

A huge thanks to all the bands across every section – including the fantastic wind bands on Saturday – for making it such a vibrant and memorable weekend. And finally, an enormous thank you to the Victorian Bands' League, National Band Council of Australia Inc., adjudicators, volunteers, and supporters for creating such a welcoming and well-run event.
